I am currently reading "Resolving Osteoporosis: The Cure & Guide Book" by Dan Purser, M.D. Have any of you read this book? Do you know anything about Dan Purser? I was looking for some feedback from anyone who may have read the book or knows Dr. Purser.
I have not read that one, Vickie, but wide reading of a variety of approaches is good for educating yourself even if it is confusing because you will hear different things. IOsteoporosis is a complex disease, and the variety of opinions about treatment make that clear. After Dr. Purser’s book, take a look at the older book by Dr. R. Keith McCormick, The Whole Body Approach to Osteoporosis. It is written in layman’ s language but introduces the reader to the vocabulary you need to become familiar with. McCormick is a chiropractor, not a rheumatologist or endocrinologist, but he has a lot of credibility I think as a former Olympic level athlete, felled for several years by osteoporosis. “Physician cure thyself” is exactly what he has done, and attempts to do for his patients. I recommend that book after you finish Purser. Good luck and don’t get discouraged.
I haven’t heard of that book or author
@A MyOsteoTeam Member thank you for the information and I will definitely take a look at his book. I agree. We need to educate ourselves and make the best decision for us. Medical science is not a pure science, but the practice of science. I believe for the most part, doctors give us their best educated opinion. However, our health care is ultimately our responsibility. Wishing you a blessed day.
